Provincial Government Releases a Document Addressing Concerns on Wage IncreaseThe Guangdong Provincial Government has released a document addressing the concerns for the minimum wages in Dongguan. The document states that as of May 1st of 2013 the minimum wage will increase from the existing 1,100 RMB a month to 1,310 RMB a month.

Recently most cities across Guangdong have increased its minimum wages, except Shenzhen Special Economic Zone since it has its own economic standards. The document also stated the four grades of its minimum wage standards.

First tier cities are to implement the first grade standard, this means full time workers gets 1,550 RMB a month and part time workers will be paid 15 RMB an hour. Second tier cities will implement the second grade standard or 1,310 RMB a month for full time workers and 12.5 RMB an hour for part time workers.

Third ties cities will be implementing the third grade standard this means a 1,130 RMB per month for full time workers and part time workers will be paid 11.1 RMB an hour. Remaining cities will implement the fourth grade standard which means full time workers will get 1,010 RMB and part time workers will be paid 10 RMB an hour.
